Tenby Golf Club
Tenby Golf Club, the Oldest Affiliated Golf Course in Wales, and one of the finest links courses in the Principality. Those who find their way to this beautiful corner of Pembrokeshire will be richly rewarded with a classic links experience. It has been ranked in the top five courses in Wales and it is easy to see why. The former Ryder Cup Captain Dai Rees was so impressed with the James Braid designed course that the 3rd hole, his favourite, is named after him.
Already renowned as the birthplace of Welsh golf (est 1888) Tenby G.C. has recently been awarded another great accolade to further endorse its reputation as one of the Countries finest golf courses.
Tenby is one of only 7 Welsh courses to feature in the first edition of The Rolex World’s Top 1000 Golf Courses the result of a thorough process that has taken 3 years to complete. A team of over 200 ‘Inspectors’ anonymously worked their way around the golfing world in order to arrive at the definitive published list.
Rolex believe ‘that the first time in the history of golf, a genuine world ranking has been established; like all rankings it is of course subjective, but it is the result of unbiased and independent opinion with no commercial pressure’
Having already featured in the UK’s top 100, as well as top 10 best value courses, Tenby is now extremely proud to feature as the 2nd highest ranked course in Wales, ahead of some great courses such as The Twenty 10 course at Celtic Manor, Royal St David’s and Aberdovey.
Although it’s obvious pedigree and quality, Tenby remains welcoming and accessible to visitors. With a variety of green fees from £25 in the summer, as well as play and stay packages in its own on site ‘Dormy House’ from £59, Tenby is a must play destination for those who find themselves in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside.
Located within walking distance of the famous Old harbour town of Tenby. The famous Tenby Links, traditionally situated between the sea and railway offers stunning vistas of the sea and the monastic island of Caldey.
The undulating fairways have been 'over 120 years in the making', with golf having been played on this land since circa 1875. Apart from golf Tenby offers so many other alternatives, so why not extend your visit with one of of our Play & Stay packages. For further information please check our 'Visitor Information' page.
The famous Tenby Open Week takes place each year early in June. Now in its 33rd consecutive year the 2012 Open Week is scheduled for 9th-15th June.
