Tenby is delighted to have multi award winning PGA Golf Professional Rhys Harry as the Club Professional. Rhys’ appointment followed his role as Head Assistant at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club where he worked for almost eleven years. This experience was instrumental in developing him into the Golf Professional he is today. Rhys was a Top 10 Qualifier from the European School of Excellence and has won a Titleist Award for Outstanding Excellence in his field. However the award we are most proud of is his latest honour - receiving the title Welsh PGA Professional of the year at the glittering, star studded 2010 Ryder Cup Dinner.

Rhys has a love of playing the game, but has an obvious passion for coaching players of all abilities and retailing at the highest standards.

Coaching Academy

Coaching is offered seven days a week at Tenby Golf Club with Rhys Harry offering tuition on six of those days. Tenby is fortunate to have two PGA Teaching Professionals at their disposal:

“We do not teach golf we coach players!”

Education and understanding are key objectives, the more you understand the more you will experience success.

Holistic development is vital for both the tour player and the improving club member, we cover it all from golf specific strength and conditioning to sport psychology and course management.

Standard lessons are of one hour duration, and can cover any aspect of the game from putting, bunker play to long irons or pure swing technique.

Video Lessons are integral to our coaching programmes using the latest Slow-motion recording equipment and analysis software. These lessons are always informative and provide a visual benchmark to measure improvement.

Group Coaching  is available in hourly sessions with a maximum of six people in a group.
Tenby is also proud to host regular Taster days with ongoing coaching for complete beginners and those new to golf who require an introduction.

Skills Tests

 
We also conduct Powerflyte National Skills Tests as used, endorsed and designed by the Australian Institute of Golf. The objective of the test is to review pupil performance in practice and play. The test takes a holistic approach, whereby putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, wedge, 9 iron, 5 iron and driver performance are all analysed under playing pressure. Thus, strengths and weaknesses are highlighted and the appropriate action can then be taken by the professional. The national skills test takes approximately 2 hours.

Custom Fitting

Rhys Harry has over twelve years fitting experience and has looked after players of every standard.
Having correctly fitted clubs will improve your game. Fact!

During the custom fitting process we work out what shaft length, grip size, lie angles and shaft composition you require. This normally takes an hour. Our aim is to help you play to your full potential and to give you the confidence and peace of mind that the clubs you purchase are perfectly suited for you.
